  • A broad range and mix of waste together in the same process

  • Wet waste can be treated like dry waste by using Scandi Slurry Reformer (SSR)
    • a very energy-efficient dewatering process

  • Both organic and inorganic

  • All kinds of plastics, including PVC

  • No need for extensive sorting

  • Closing the circular economy by treating non-recyclable waste

  • Examples: Different kind of packaging materials, textiles, car fluff, cable waste, and painted wood can be treated together with the traditional waste as black and grey water, fish sludge, scrubber wash water, food waste and other organic waste

Designed for max renewable energy output


  • Normally pyrolysis/gasification processes are fed with very homogenous substrates

  • Scandi Vacuum Gasifier (SVG) is a unique multi-chamber process which can handle almost all kinds of input which contains energy

  • Heterogenous substrates are better than homogenous because energy poor substrates can be treated together with energy rich substrates. This makes SVG 2-3 times more effective than traditional gasification systems and incinerators

  • SVG has only 2 output: Syngas and biochar – no oils or tars - no waste.
    SVG is designed for max energy in the syngas, not in the biochar

  • If the syngas is burnt directly it can replace fossil LNG. It has approx. 80% of the energy content compared with LNG by volume. (higher than LNG by weight)

  • The parasitic load of SVG is 20-30% of the energy produced

Climate and environmental winner


  • SVG is a closed process

  • The syngas produced has food chain quality, contains no NOx and Sox

  • There is no flue gas from the process. Indirect heating of the chambers. No dioxins and furans as in incineration

  • If combusted, the syngas produce 40% less CO2 than other fuels

  • Heavy metals are immobilised and incapsulated in the biochar, only released at 550 centigrade

  • SVG is carbon negative. It effectively sequesters carbon that would otherwise in decomposition or incineration have become CO2. O2 is left to the atmosphere

  • Biochar retains water and salts, which minimizes the evaporation and leaching of fertilizers
